Small Suburban Garden |
 |
|
Before/Project Brief For this typical rectangular suburban plot, the design brief was to add interest with some height and the gentle sound of running water.

After I approached this brief by segregating the garden into the terrace, lawn and pergola/seating area by the use of low brick walls capped with sandstone. These also function as additional seating for entertaining. |

An archway, which will next year be draped with clematis, marks the passage from the terrace to the lawn area. The pergola at the rear of the garden, once the climbers have matured, will screen the metal fence. |

The subtle water feature creates the sound of running water. |
