Garden
  The garden before

Before/Project Brief
The garden was on two levels linked by a concrete ramp. The walls were in poor condition and the access to the terrace outside the dining room was too narrow. The client wanted a fresh modern look with a hint of a Mediterranean courtyard. Specifically, the client wanted to remove the ramp and replace it with elegant steps to the upper terrace.

Contemporary Mediterranean Garden After The Project   Steps to upper level

My approach to the design was to create cream rendered walls to reflect light into the garden. A sandstone sphere was positioned in line with the back door of the property as a focal point.
Generously wide steps, lit on either side, led to the upper lawn area. The paved surface and the wall coping were a polished sandstone to give a contemporary feel.
