Children's Gardens It is worth mentioning gardens designed mainly for children to use. Although these can fit any of the styles already mentioned, I feel that a more natural softer style suits a garden meant for play. The key is to make the garden interesting for them, to appeal to their sense of adventure, with circular routes around the garden and secret places to hide. Some examples of features you could incorporate are: tree houses with rope ladders and swings, tents, rills, sunken trampolines, mounds of turf perhaps made into creature shapes, and winding secret paths through planting. Be careful of spiky plants which are easy to run into and of course, open water should be avoided. |
